Every year my children get very excited as we prepare to build our sukkah. A couple of years ago, we upgraded from our 46-year-old Brooklyn sukkah to one of the easy-to-build sukkot, and it is relatively quick. However, the highlight is really next door. Our neighbor David has a love of building, and every year we don’t know what surprises are in store. He has added over the years a refrigerator, counter tops, a futon… but this year David was bringing home more and more wood. What could David have been building? My girls kept asking. So here are some photos; this year David added an annex, a small loft bedroom to avoid the skunks he encountered last year. We nominate the Goldstein family for the award of Best Sukkah. We could not have asked for better neighbors with lots of Sukkos style.
