Bruriah High School 10th graders and AP Literature class students visited Yeshiva University’s Stern College in Manhattan for an exciting and educational afternoon this past week. The girls heard a presentation from college research librarians on fundamentals of online research, including navigating primary and secondary sources, evaluating the credibility of online sources and accessing academic databases. Students left feeling adequately prepared for future research needs while enjoying the opportunity to experience being a college student. Tenth grader Mayana Rottenstreich, shared that “This experience gave me a glimpse into the future while preparing me to better understand how to conduct research while I am still in high school.” The overall trip experience was a great way to tap into another learning environment to boost student performance.
