AABJ&D Presents Roy Doliner as Scholar-in-Residence

The AABJ&D adult education department will host Roy Doliner, author, historian and lecturer, as the shul’s scholar-in-residence this Shabbat, June 4. Doliner is a passionate

lecturer on Judaism and an eternal student of Torah, Talmud and Kabbalah.

Doliner will speak on Shabbat day after kiddush on the topic of “The Sistine Secrets: How and Why Michelangelo Hid Forbidden Talmudic and Kabbalistic messages in the Heart of the Vatican.” One hour before mincha, he will discuss, “And the Walls Came Tumbling Down: How One 5-Year-Old Jewish Boy Brought Down the Pope’s Empire.” Finally, during seudat shlishit, he will speak about “Sparks From the Bottom of the Boot: The Miraculous

True Story of the Rebirth of Jews and Judaism in Southern Italy and Sicily.”

Doliner’s book, The Sistine Secrets, co-authored with Rabbi Benjamin Blech, about the hidden Jewish messages that Michelangelo concealed inside his artwork for the Church—especially in his famous frescoes inside the Sistine Chapel—was a New York Times and international bestseller.

Most recently, he made headlines for discovering a long-lost masterpiece of Michelangelo—the Model of the Pieta in the Vatican, made in terracotta in 1497 when the genius from Florence was only 22 years old. Currently, Doliner and the statue are the stars of a special Discovery Channel documentary on this amazing but true story.

Congregation AABJ&D is located at 700 Pleasant Valley Way,| West Orange,
