As if the gruesome images coming out of our homeland weren’t horrible enough, American Jews had to watch as nearly every major university had large swaths of their population call for a Jewish genocide. Save for a few brave souls, the silence from the various administrations has been painfully deafening. As a parent of a near college-aged kid, I wonder aloud how I can justify sending my daughter to any one of these schools knowing that I’m throwing her into a lion’s den. Is Hillel going to protect her from 32 law school clubs calling for the death of her brothers and sisters? As a community, I think that we need to come together and address this issue with our yeshivot and their college guidance departments to address these concerns.
