This week grades kitah aleph and kitah bet celebrated their Siddur and Chumash ceremonies! During these ceremonies students recited prayers and sang songs, demonstrating the development of their Hebrew and Judaic Studies skills over the school year. As a part of this major milestone, first graders received their first Siddur and second graders received their Chumash. Parents also took part in making the event special by inscribing personal notes in the Siddurim and Chumashim. With beaming smiles all around from students, family members and teachers, it was clear how proud the students were of their achievements. At Academies at GBDS, we strive to instill pride and joy in partaking in Jewish traditions, the very traditions that have helped to carry the Jewish people through millennia. May the words in the Torah remain on the tongues and in the hearts of each child.
