On November 9, Academies at GBDS commemorated the 83rd anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Night of the Broken Glass, with a meaningful tefillah followed by a moving presentation that included an eyewitness video interview, a video of Kristallnacht images narrated by eighth grade students, and art works created by Marc Chagall that inspired the stained art glass project. The program was brought to life when Mrs. Ellen shared a story of how her family (living in Germany at the time) saved three Torah scrolls and escaped to America on the last ship that left Germany on August 22, 1939. Am Yisrael chai!
