On Friday, April 1, 2022, the third grade students of Academies at GBDS hosted a Zoo Fair for their parents and families. The fair was a culmination of the integrated study unit upon completing the reading and writing unit on informational books. In this unit the students learned the characteristics of informational books and how to use them to research information. Then each student picked an animal and created their own informational book. The students created a habitat for their animal and a trifold that contained the information and illustrations. The students wore costumes, sang songs and proudly shared all they have learned with their parents and family members.
