(yumacs.com) Yeshiva University women’s tennis standout Shira Adler was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday morning.
Adler led the Maccabees to two wins this past week, including a thrilling 5-4 league victory over Mount Saint Mary College last Tuesday. During the victory over the Knights, the Teaneck native teamed up with fellow newcomer Micka Mimoun to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Adler also led off singles play with a victory at the third position, 6-2, 6-1. Her two-court victories made the difference in Yeshiva securing the key conference win.
In Yeshiva’s convincing 7-2 non-conference road victory over Lehman College, this past Sunday, Adler won the third singles flight, 6-2, 6-1. Earlier that afternoon, she teamed up with junior Liana Friedman to dominate at No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
