After School Clubs Return To Manhattan Day School

After a nearly two year hiatus, the Manhattan Day School community is excited to welcome back a full range of after school clubs and activities! Following an engaging day of classes, MDS students across the grades can be found pursuing their passions and exploring areas of interest through the MDS After School Program. “We offer a comprehensive list of clubs that allow students to acquire resourceful skills while they experience new things,” says Ms. Marsha Turk, Director of the After School Club program. “It is core to our mission to meet the needs of students by educating them at multiple levels within the classrooms, providing enrichment opportunities and differentiation when necessary. The After School Program adds extra possibilities to build confidence and enhance growth for each student by tapping into talents and interests that go beyond the classroom walls.

Manhattan Day School students can enhance their creative side in Mixed Media, Acrylic Painting and Ceramics, or develop their sportsmanship in Kindergym, Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, and Gymnastics. Focus, concentration, and confidence are some of the benefits of Karate, Yoga, Ballet, Jazz or Chess. There is something for everyone at every stage and every age. “My favorite after school is Mixed Media because it combines many different artistic styles. During the After School Program I have the opportunity to participate in fun activities and I enjoy being in school after hours with my friends,” commented fourth grader Rakia B.

Along with a full athletic program and both Mishmar and Amud Yomi opportunities, After School Clubs are a great way to wrap up days filled with learning, inspiration, growth and joy at MDS!
