In this parsha, Moshe discusses all the laws of kosher food and tells us which animals and fish we are allowed to eat. One thing we are allowed to eat is chicken. So let’s make one of my favorite chicken recipes: fire poppers!
Fire Poppers
Ingredients:
- Chicken cutlets
- Cornflake crumbs
- Eggs
- Onion powder and garlic powder
- Canola oil
- Frank’s hot sauce
- Honey
- Brown sugar
Directions:
1. Cut chicken cutlets into bite-size pieces.
2. Dip into eggs spiced with onion powder and garlic powder, and then corn flake crumbs.
3. Fry these pieces in canola oil for a couple of minutes.
4. Lay on a baking tray.
5. Meanwhile, mix equal parts Frank’s hot sauce and brown sugar (like ½ cup each) and ⅓ cup of honey.
6. Pour sauce over chicken and bake for 20 minutes at 350 F.
Delicious and just like Dougie’s!
