All Four TABC Teams Are Storming Towards Championships

After a couple of tough losses right before winter break, the TABC Storm varsity basketball the team came out after the break with two big wins to sneak into the second seed of the Western division, giving them a first round bye. Their defense, which has been their hallmark all year, led them to these big victories over SAR and MTA. Although at times the offense struggled, the Storm were able to capitalize when they needed to with different members stepping up and hitting big shots. With the defense leading way, the Storm aim to bring home their first ever varsity basketball championship.

In other news, the Storm JV basketball team finished with the three seed. Even after a long break, there was no rust to be found after a convincing victory over Ramaz, who they will play in their first round match up at home. In preparation for their playoff journey, the Storm traveled to Montreal to compete in the Oren Grunbaum tournament, where they competed against many Canadian teams. The Storm have high hopes to repeat as JV champions.

The varsity hockey team finished the regular season as the 2 seed giving them a first round bye. In round two action they topped Flatbush 6-0. Senior defenseman ET Dubin led the way scoring the first two goals of the game. The victory places the Storm in the varsity hockey final four for the 14th consecutive year. TABC will now be tasked with winning at the DRS Greenhouse on Tuesday February 26, at 8 p.m. DRS brings a 15-0 record into the game.

The Storm have been led all season by their great goal-tending, ferocious defense and balanced offense. The Storm hope to capitalize on the success they exhibited on Senior Night where they saw everything click as they defeated Kushner in a convincing home win. The Storm will face a challenging schedule as they hope to find themselves in Lawrence Middle School March 3. Still the Storm have the confidence and talent to capture the championship.

The JV hockey team saved their best game for when it mattered most. A huge win against Kushner gave the Storm the 1 seed and home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Their most complete game of the season saw all the different pieces come together. They had fantastic goal-tending, great defense and incredible offense to give them the big 4-1 win over Kushner. The next hurdle will be DRS on February 21, at the TABC Storm Center.

Stay tuned as we continue our run for the championship for all four teams!
