All of RKYHS participated in a yom chesed and volunteered at locations all around the area as part of their Chanukah programming. Chesed activities ranged from visiting with the elderly at Daughters of Israel, Daughters of Miriam, Lester House and Care One, working at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Interfaith Food Pantry, cleaning up the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, going bowling with Yachad members, sorting clothes for Yad Leah, spending time with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Arc of Essex County and playing with children at a special needs school with multiple and severe disabilities and medical challenges.
It was an amazing sight to see the entire student body working in unison to make a difference, and a rewarding way to perform acts of chesed together as a school.
