The event brought together parents, faculty, supporters and friends in celebration of a remarkable year of learning, growth and success.

The evening marked a particularly special milestone: the success of Shalshelet’s first-ever crowdfunding campaign. This achievement, made possible by the generosity and enthusiasm of the broader community, was not just about reaching a fundraising goal—it was a testament to the belief in Shalshelet’s mission and the bright future of its students.

Chaired by Rochella Treitel, Shana Kalman and Adam Reich, the evening was beautifully curated to reflect the spirit of Shalshelet. With stunning decor courtesy of Luxe Event Rentals, the Taub Auditorium was transformed into a magnificent event space. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by a vibrant display of student work lining the hallways, a showcase of creativity and thoughtfulness demonstrating the learning happening every day at the yeshiva. These projects embodied the school’s values and highlighted the accomplishments of its students.

Rabbi Chaim Marcus opened the program with the recitation of a perek of Tehillim, setting a tone of reflection and appreciation. Azi Mandel, president of the board, welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude to the many supporters who have helped Shalshelet thrive.

Head of School Shulamit Roth shared her reflections on the year, expressing pride in the incredible progress of the school, not just in its growing numbers, but in the depth of connection and learning that defines the Shalshelet experience. With sincerity and passion, she acknowledged the dedication of the teachers and staff, the enthusiasm of the students, and the unwavering support of the parent body and community.

Principal Rabbi Ronn Yaish then introduced the student speakers, Jack Kalman, Hannah Levenbrown, Shmuel Pastreich and Ayelet Rosenthal, who each presented highlights from their Judaic studies learning this year, including insightful lessons from Chumash, Mishna and Torah She’Baal Peh. Their thoughtful presentations showcased not only what they had mastered academically, but also their personal growth and confidence.

One of the evening’s most powerful moments was the video presentation, which offered a behind-the-scenes look at the Shalshelet experience. Through candid student interviews and classroom snapshots, attendees saw firsthand the impact of the school’s unique approach. It was both inspiring and deeply moving to hear students describe, in their own words, how Shalshelet has helped them discover confidence, joy in learning, and a true sense of belonging.

To end the evening on a lighter note, comedian Dovi Neuburger brought laughter and levity to the crowd.

The Evening of Gratitude was more than a celebration; It was a heartfelt tribute to a school community that continues to grow, inspire and uplift. To support Shalshelet’s mission, visit www.shalsheletnj.org
