Announcing JEDi, Jewish Educational Discussions Interactive

(Courtesy of JEDi) JEDi is a series of engaging online talks exploring topics of Jewish interest via dynamic presentations and visuals in the style of TED. The talks draw upon the full gamut of Jewish scholarship—from biblical history and commentary, to Talmud, kabbalah, the Hasidic masters and contemporary thought.

The first talk will be on the topic of POWER.

As we explore these stories, we will also gain knowledge of ancient Jewish history, insights into the Bible, and learn what kabbalah has to say about the extent of Torah wisdom, as we seek “the antidote”—the wisdom to successfully hold power.

Some of the sources drawn upon for this talk include: Tanach, Medrash, Talmud, Zohar, Rambam, Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato, the Vilna Gaon, Rav Yosef Chaim of Baghdad, Rav Shlomo Elyashiv, and Rav Yosef Breuer.

The founder of JEDi Gary Sheva has been deeply involved in the field of jewish education for over a decade. He fuses his experience in the worlds of art, design, technology and Jewish education to produce innovative projects that promote Jewish wisdom and practice in a manner that is universally accessible. His projects uplift and inspire audiences worldwide. He is a published author, and his books have been distributed in the U.S., England, Australia and Israel.

Gary is the founder of the Jewish Life Series Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to making Jewish knowledge easy to acquire through the combination of stunning visuals and outstanding educational content.

He is also the founder of BIG ISRAEL, another educational nonprofit in development now, whose goal is to make knowledge of the biblical and spiritual history of Israel universally known and an intrinsic part of culture.

He is world-renowned for the clarity he brings in making Jewish ideas accessible to a worldwide audience. Noted rabbinic and lay leaders have given their endorsement to both Gary and
the Jewish Life Series.
