(Courtesy of Anshe Chesed) Anshe Chesed of Linden had the privilege of hosting Rabbi Ari Zucker, the new assistant principal of Judaic Studies at the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, for an enlightening shiur. Rabbi Zucker, a rising star in Jewish education, addressed the balance between challenging our children and allowing them space to grow independently. He emphasized that, just as Hashem grants us room to make mistakes, repent and improve, we must also give our children the freedom to learn and develop from their experiences while being supportive. Rabbi Zucker drew from a diverse array of sources, including the Maharal of Prague, Rabbi Kook, Rabbi Soloveitchik, Rabbi Menachem Rosenbaum, Rabbi Dessler and psychologist Jonathan Haidt.
This event is part of Anshe Chesed’s popular monthly shiur and dinner series, which draws crowds from many of the neighboring communities. Rabbi Yossi Katz, rav of the shul, noted, “By inviting Rabbi Zucker, we not only benefited from a dynamic educator but also highlighted Anshe Chesed’s goal of strengthening our partnerships with our local day schools.” He also praised the source sheets used in the shiur, noting their professional quality and engaging presentation, complete with artwork and comics that enriched the Torah study.
Anshe Chesed invites the community to its next series installment on Motzei Shabbat, September 28 at 9:45 p.m.. Rabbi Dr. Simcha Willig will be speaking and leading a kumzitz before Selichot. Join us for this special evening!
