Several ASHAR students placed in the Sam and Barbara Weinberger Annual Literary and Art Competition hosted by Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education. This year’s theme was resilience through the lens of the Holocaust. Students created visual displays, literary pieces, and slide presentations based on the theme. Dalia Abramson, Avigail Isaacson, and Tamar Berman swept the middle school visual arts category. Liran Kenig won third place in the middle school literary arts category, and Gitty Elbaum and Esther Kramer placed in the multimedia arts category. ASHAR alumna Tamar Morell won second place in the high school visual arts category. The awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 4, on the Rockland Community College campus.
