Over Pesach, nearly 350 RYNJ lower school students participated in the RYNJ Vacation Checklist Challenge. Talmidim and talmidos demonstrated their dedication to living the life of a Torah Jew beyond the classroom. Among some of the categories on the checklist were daily tefillah, chesed/help at home, shul attendance, participation in the Seder and sharing divrei Torah over the chag. Some classes added categories of their own such as kriah review or finding opportunities for hakaras hatov. As a way of recognizing their efforts in a meaningful way, participating students received a Sefirat HaOmer scratch-off card. The “prize” for scratching off each box is getting the Torah on Shavuot.
