ATC Healthcare has been a leader in medical staffing for nearly 40 years, placing skilled healthcare professionals in a diverse set of disciplines and locations nationwide. Since the onset of the coronavirus, ATC has been at the forefront of the crisis, facilitating COVID testing in home and at locations throughout the country.
Jordan Savitsky oversees the COVID-19 testing operation, a new division the company has developed in response to the increasing demand for reliable and accessible testing. His father, David Savitsky, is the CEO of ATC Healthcare and lives in New Rochelle, the initial epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. “My father was quarantining before we knew what that meant,” said Savitsky, who believes being at the center of the outbreak gave them a head start launching the testing business.
ATC began preparing operations this past April when many of their clients were requesting nurses to conduct testing for the virus. Once it became apparent that testing capability was essential, they devised a system that would allow them to respond quickly and effectively. To date, ATC has administered over 250,000 COVID tests nationwide.
What sets them apart from other testing facilities is the efficiency of the process. With ATC you skip the lines and the hassle. “We typically confirm appointments within an hour of requests,” said Savitsky, “and results are obtained immediately from rapid testing and within 24 to 48 hours for lab tests.”
Working with tens of thousands of nurses, ATC has the capability to deploy resources much faster than most companies, and while many testing centers are often running short on tests, ATC boasts a tremendous supply chain that has never run out. Tests are processed at their own accredited lab to facilitate a quicker turnaround time compliant with the highest standards of quality. ATC medical directors have licensing to test for antibodies and antigens as well.
According to Savitsky, the COVID testing branch has grown immeasurably over the last seven months. They do testing for universities, weddings, private events, corporations and more. They are currently working with 250 schools in the tri-state area, facilitating all the necessary steps needed to test students. For younger children, COVID testing can be a frightening experience, so they send nurses who are specially trained with a more gentle approach.
“Whatever type of testing arrangement a client needs we can accommodate,” said Savitsky. ATC is currently doing ongoing testing and COVID monitoring for a movie production in New Orleans, where nurses are always on set testing people twice a week. They even built them their own lab so they could get results in hours. Among other enterprises, ATC works with private jet companies who require pilots and staff to be tested on a very regular basis. Savitsky sees testing as an essential component to keeping businesses and institutions up and running.
There is a heightened sense of anxiety surrounding COVID testing, which ATC has substantially eliminated from the process. For a nominal fee, a reliable and trained healthcare worker will come to your home or office to test you, or you can visit one of their pop-up locations. Locally, Savitsky established a testing site at his shul in Englewood, Kehilat Kesher, which has serviced the community around the clock for many months.
