This week the Jewish Link of Bergen County is proud to award Englewood native Judah Cohen with the Athlete of the Week award.
Judah is a soft-spoken young man off the court; when he laces it up, he literally roars. Judah has received an award for 1000+ points in his high school career. He is a four-time Yeshiva League All-Star and a two-time Sarachek All-Star. He has won two Yeshiva League championships, two-time three-point champ, and the AAU 16u State Championship. His most recent accomplishment is being selected to the play in the Maccabiah Games, the 3rd largest international sporting event in the world. Comprised of Jewish athletes from over 60 countries, they are held every four years in Israel. Judah is one of the 12 athletes chosen to represent the USA 18U team.
One would think that his laundry list of accomplishments would lead to an overinflated ego. After speaking to Judah, JLBC was impressed that this is not the case. He credits his father with instilling within him the drive to succeed and more importantly to be a good Jew.
