Athletes For Israel Plans Next Trip

(AFI) Athletes For Israel (AFI), a non-profit organization dedicated to combating antisemitism and promoting a positive narrative about Israel by partnering with athletes, is bringing the University of Arizona and Kansas State University’s men’s basketball teams and staff to Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The trip will take place between August 10-20.

Over the past four years, AFI has orchestrated unforgettable trips to Israel for several former NBA, NFL and MLB stars and collegiate programs. These transformative journeys to the holy land leave an indelible mark on the athletes, who then share their impactful experiences with their families, communities and followers. Through social media, they touch the hearts and minds of thousands, fostering understanding and reshaping misconceptions.

Last August, AFI sponsored and hosted Coach Bruce Pearl and the Auburn men’s basketball team on an unprecedented journey to Israel. This extraordinary Birthright for College Basketball trip allowed Auburn’s players and staff to immerse themselves in the Israel’s rich history, culture, innovation and spirituality.

Building upon the resounding success of the Auburn trip, AFI is looking forward to continuing its mission this August with the University of Arizona and Kansas State University’s men’s basketball teams. By providing these young men with this opportunity, AFI aims to facilitate team-building and exploration while experiencing all that Israel has to offer. In addition, for the first time, the trip will include a visit to the UAE to support and celebrate the Abraham Accords. The itinerary in Israel will include tours of the Old City, a visit to Bethlehem, Yad Vashem, the Dead Sea, Shabbat dinner, a tech summit and three basketball games across Israel and the UAE.

AFI fundamentally believes that by providing athletes with a true sense of Israel, they are correcting false narratives about Israel and its people and developing a new generation of allies and ambassadors.

Daniel Posner, founder and chairman of Athletes For Israel shared: “We are excited to partner with Complete Sports Management to bring the University of Arizona (and Kansas State University) to Israel. These world-class college basketball programs will experience Israel’s history, culture and vibrant energy.

“Israel is the ideal place to bring a team to bond, connect and learn from one another. It is America’s closest ally, and a flourishing democracy, with freedom of worship for all. Millennials and children admire and listen to athletes so by bringing them [athletes] to Israel we can dispel common misconceptions in an upfront and personal way.”
