Last week, author and journalist Dale Russakoff spoke to TABC’s Scholars Program, an independent two-year honors program designed to give students the opportunity to identify and master a field of intellectual study by completing an in-depth project in a discipline of their choosing. Russakoff spoke to the students about the process of interviewing and how students can incorporate interviews into their research projects. Russakoff spent 28 years as a reporter for the Washington Post, covering politics, education, social policy and other topics. From 1994 to 2008, she served in the Post’s New York Bureau, where she covered the NYC metropolitan area, including Newark. She published her book, “The Prize: Whose in Charge of America’s Schools?” in 2015. “The Prize” follows Mark Zuckerberg, Cory Booker and Chris Christie as they attempt to transform the education system in Newark.
