Dear Ariella B.,
My teacher never calls on me unless she sees that I am not concentrating or I’m spacing out. I feel like she is always picking on me. The only time she calls on me is when I don’t know the answers or when everybody, and I mean everybody, does not know the answer and does not raise their hands.
What should I do?
Sincerely,
Picked on Penina
Dear Picked On Penina,
Did you try talking to your teacher privately? Telling her how you feel? You can talk to your friends also and see if she does this to them too or only targets you. Are you raising your hand and saying, “Oo oo” and jumping out of your seat? If so, she probably is not going to call on you.
Do you sit in the back of the classroom? Can your teacher see you? If after all these questions, nothing stands out, you probably just have a bad teacher. I hope things work out!
See you next month,
Ariella B.
