Baseball Is Back in Town And You Can Buy a Seat

Great news: professional baseball is back in town and there are seats to be had at great prices. The Rockland Boulders, New Jersey Jackals, and Sussex County Miners are playing in the American Baseball Classic at their stadiums in Pomona, New York; Little Ferry, New Jersey; and Augusta, New Jersey. Each location has two teams playing Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans are invited to come with proper social distancing and face masks required. Each stadium is thoroughly cleaned and safe for all spectators. Tickets are heavily discounted.

The Rockland Boulders and New York Brave play at Palisades Credit Union Park in Rockland County. They have four Jewish players: Matt Feinstein, Alex Schwartz, Alex Fishberg, and Brett Holtz. The New Jersey Jackals and Jersey Wise Guys play at Yogi Berra Stadium on the campus of Montclair State University. They have two Jewish players in Jason Agresti and Alex Katz who also will play for Team Israel in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. The Sussex County Miners and the Skylands Cardinals play at Skyland Stadium. Steve Solomon, their media relations manager, is Jewish.

Shawn Reilly, president of the Rockland Boulders and the New York Brave, invites all Jewish families and friends to come to Thursday 7 p.m. games and Sunday 2 p.m. games. Pomona, New York, is near Monsey, Teaneck, New Rochelle, Riverdale and even Queens. There are no bad seats and there are many fun activities for children to do. There are kosher treats to buy as well. While major league baseball does not allow fans, minor league baseball does.

Greg Lockard is president of both the New Jersey Jackals and Sussex County Miners. The Jackals are located in Little Ferry, New Jersey, next door to Passaic/Clifton, near Teaneck, Fair Lawn, West Orange, Elizabeth and even Staten Island and Brooklyn. Tickets can be purchased at http://njjackals.pointstreaksites.com/view/njjackals/home-page-657.Yogi Berra Stadium, named after the great all-star catcher, is not that large and one can easily catch foul and fair baseball. There are many fun activities for the children to do during the game if they get bored. Kosher snacks are also available. The Sussex Miners are near all the camps that are in Pennsylvania, near northwestern New Jersey. It is a lovely modern stadium and the campers and youngsters would love to attend a game. Order tickets at http://sussexcountyminers.com. You cannot go to a Yankees or Mets game. Come to a Miners game. The kids will have a blast.

Special News: The Rockland Boulders plans to have a Jewish Heritage Night on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 7 p.m. vs the New York Brave. Eric Holtz, the manager of the Israeli Olympic team, is the guest of honor. We are planning to have a kosher food truck. Come and honor Eric, the Israeli Olympic team, and the Jewish players. For tickets: nyboulders.com or call 845-364-0009.

Go Boulders, Jackals and Miners. Baseball is back.
