On Thursday, Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut first and second graders gathered in the beit midrash to celebrate a beautiful Tu B’Shevat Seder. The students enjoyed שבעת המינים, the seven kinds of plants that grow in Israel, sang songs and learned about the importance of trees. Rabbi Tzvi Bernstein, head of school at BCHA, stopped by and spoke about the importance of the holiday. Everybody even enjoyed a story, as Morah Alisa Weisser read “The Giving Tree” in Hebrew!
