This year’s upper school Carton Cart Race at Stamford’s Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy of Connecticut was another thrilling event. Out of the 24 students who participated, Ephraim Stock was the person who captured the gold. Joshua Schwartz placed second, and Liora Grunblatt finished with the bronze. Rounding out the top four was Tzippy Kanefsky. The Carton Cart race is a challenge for physics students to design, construct and race a carton cart, such that the cart travels as far as possible down a designated course. The propulsion system for the cart must be generated entirely from the conversion of elastic potential energy into kinetic energy.
