On Monday morning, sixth-grade students from Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy traveled to Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford and had terrific conversations with seniors from the synagogue. As a part of her bat mitzvah project, BCHA sixth-grader Hannah Haron wanted to bring together several generations under one roof to share some meaningful time together and enjoy some juice, coffee, doughnuts and pastries. In addition to the seniors at Agudath asking the BCHA students questions, Hannah had several questions she wanted her classmates to ask, such as: What was your school like? What were your favorite hobbies? Did you have a bar or bat mitzvah, and if so, what was it like? What advice would you give teenagers today? and many others. This intergenerational event, spearheaded by Hannah for her bat mitzvah project, was enjoyed by seniors and students alike.
