Students in the Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy Upper School got to use their knowledge of hilchot sukkah to compete in a scale model sukkah building competition. Students were evaluated on aesthetics, creativity (both general and in terms of Jewish law), and of course, whether the sukkah was kosher. The winning entries included a sukkah with partial walls, one with seven-walls and a sukkah that is only kosher on Shabbat (for those interested, see Talmud Sukkah 7b).
