Students at the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies participated in a town hall meeting this past Sunday to discuss the bullying incident that occurred at Fair Lawn High School last week. The meeting was led by BCHSJS students who are seniors at Fair Lawn High School. Josh Pasternak, Sophie Goldberg, Melissa Gotlib, Alyssa Seigel-Laddy, Sydney Sokol and Sam Vladimirsky explained how the events unfolded. They said this was a bullying issue and not one about free speech. A question and answer session followed that allowed BCHSJS students to clarify any misinformation and so as to take the correct facts back to their schools. The town hall meeting ended with the students being invited to attend the rally being held at Fair Lawn High School to support their administration’s decision to take action against bullying.
