Last Sunday, Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies students participated in a school-wide scavenger hunt on the Lower East Side. Students were grouped into five teams and had to find famous Lower East Side locations such as Shteibel Row, The Forward building, The Henry Street Settlement and Educational Alliance and answer questions about them. Other stops along the way included visiting a mikva and enjoying a pickle at The Pickle Guys. The last stop on the scavenger hunt was at The Bialystoker Synagogue where the students met Rabbi Zvi Romm who gave them a tour and shared the history of the synagogue.
