This past Sunday, a student-led Yom HaShoah ceremony was held at the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies. Students who lost family members during the Holocaust shared their names and lit candles in their memory. Students who had relatives who survived the Holocaust shared their stories. Parents and relatives were invited to attend the commemoration ceremony. One student’s grandfather who survived the Holocaust was in attendance as his grandson shared his story.
