Last week, students from the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies had the opportunity to visit the Yad Leah Volunteer Center in Passaic. Prior to their visit, a clothing drive was held at school each Sunday and many bags of new and gently used clothing were collected. During the visit, Jessica Katz, who heads Yad Leah, spoke to the group about the importance of the clothing for Israel as a basic need, as well as a way to enhance the self-esteem of the person receiving the clothing. The group then sorted, folded and packed the clothing into boxes. The clothing will be sent with love from BCHSJS to families in need living in Israel who will know that there are people in United States who care about them.
