The Bear Mountain Inn, a rustic lodge in the heart of Bear Mountain State Park on the west bank of the Hudson River, is now available for Glatt Kosher weddings. Mina Park, Director of Sales and Catering, said she has had many requests for kosher weddings over the years. Bear Mountain Inn has worked with Beth Torah Glatt Kosher Caterers of Queens on several occasions and everyone was delighted with their food. With an increasing number of inquiries, the management decided to make Glatt Kosher wedding packages with Beth Torah Caterers available to all. Beth Torah Caterers was founded by Iraqi born Aodi Zilkah who prepares gourmet cuisine with a specialty in Middle East and Mediterranean cooking, as befits his family’s heritage. Packages include an open bar, cocktail reception and plated or buffet dinner. Additional kosher caterers are under consideration.
Just a 45-minute drive from either the Bronx or Bergen County, New Jersey, the Bear Mountain Inn has been restored to the original elegance that made it known as “one of the finest examples of rustic Adirondack architecture in America” when it was built in 1915. Arched windows look out onto the spacious lawn. From the rear, a deck overlooks the pristine Hessian Lake. The extensive locally sourced wood floors and beams, massive stonework and working fireplaces ooze historical charm. Following a seven-year renovation, the inn also has twenty-first century amenities like an in-house spa and modern guest rooms with wi-fi and satellite TV.
The inn can accommodate wedding parties with a minimum of 125 and maximum of 250. There are several common areas on three floors that be used for the tish, reception and bedekin, ceremony, dinner and dancing. Weather permitting, there is an outdoor area for the ceremony. The spa is waiting to pamper the bride on her big day before she dresses in the luxurious complimentary guest suite for the bride and groom.
Hosts can reserve blocks of rooms at a discounted price Sunday—Thursday. Overnight guests can take advantage of everything the park has to offer: hiking trails, a zoo, ice skating in winter and swimming and boating in summer.
