Ben Porat Yosef eighth graders were thrilled to attend an event at the United Nations, on Monday evening November 23. The event commemorated the history of the 850,000 Jewish refugees from Arab countries, and was hosted by Ambassador Danny Danon, Israel’s current envoy of the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations. The students got to meet Ambassador Danon and enjoy a spirited concert by Moroccan-Israeli singer, songwriter and composer Shimon Buskila in his debut solo performance in the United States.
