BPY celebrated Veteran’s Day by giving hakarat hatov to Rabbi Ira Kronenberg who served as a chaplain in the U.S. army for 36 years. He explained the history of Veteran’s Day and then shared his experiences highlighting the types of sacrifices that service men and women make. It was fascinating to hear about the challenges of being shomer Shabbat in Afghanistan. It was also impressive to learn how all the religious leaders worked together. Rabbi Kronenberg was so impressed by the students’ decorum and thought provoking questions.
