Kitah bet was in for a special treat when a sofer came to BPY to teach them how a Torah is made. After explaining to the students the important job a sofer performs, the sofer gave a demonstration of how a sofer uses quills with ink to write mezuzot, tefillin and sifrei Torah on parchment. The students then used a feather dipped in ink to write their own names on a klaf. They also practiced reading their pesukim for their upcoming mesibat Chumash!
