Ben Porat Yosef Open House Draws Huge Crowd

Ben Porat Yosef welcomed a full house into their building for its annual Open House for prospective parents. The standing room only program began with Rabbi Saul Zucker, head of school who outlined the mission to develop within each child ahavat Hashem and yirat Hashem. The crowd then heard from two current parents, Renee Klyman and Dr. Shalom Holtz, who described how happy they are to be BPY parents, observing their children’s midot, child-centered learning and the celebration and transmission of BPY’s Sephardic and Ashkenazic identity. Kayla Stein, first grade, and Noah Sebbag, eighth grade, then amazed the audience with their articulate and powerful discussion in Hebrew and English about being a BPY student.

The second part of the program gave parents the opportunity to attend classes which inspire, challenge and engage each learner. Faculty, parents, trustees and students were present to welcome prospective families and answer questions. Applications are being accepted online at www.benporatyosef.org through December 19.
