The Bergen County Flag Football league kicked off its spring season this past Sunday at Overpeck Park’s Vince Lombardi Field. The predicted rain and cold weather did not deter the 200 plus players, their families and friends from coming down. When The Jewish Link asked about the impressive turnout, BCFL co-commissioner Rabbi Avi Rosalimsky answered, “What could be more fun than football in the rain?”
The excitement continues next week back at Vince Lombardi Field with the first official week of the season.
Breaking BCFL news: As a special Mother’s Day treat BCFL will be playing its games on Sunday, May 8, on the field at MetLife Stadium (where the Giants and Jets play). The game times will be between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is an amazingly rare opportunity for the kids to play on the same field as Saquan Barkley and Zach Wilson.
