Bergen County Government Celebrates Chanukah

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco joined a beautiful menorah lighting on the first day of Chanukah, along with Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, Bergen County Clerk John Hogan and the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders, including Freeholder Tracy Zur, a strong advocate for the Jewish community in county government. Executive Tedesco issued a proclamation celebrating Chanukah, expressing his strong support for the rights of all Bergen County religious communities to celebrate their holidays in peace and security.

The Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey’s Jason Shames and Roberta Abrams were present, in addition to Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky of Bris Avrohom, Rabbi Jim Stoloff of Temple Avodat Shalom and Andrew Gross of the New Jersey-Israel Commission. Rabbi Kanelsky presented Tedesco with a special gift for his support and advocacy on behalf of the Bergen County Jewish community.

The event included a spirited performance by the The Moriah School choir.
