(Courtesy of BCSW) Bergen County Shomrim Watch (BCSW) is preparing to launch its neighborhood watch car patrols on Thursday, September 19. With the rise of antisemitic events affecting our Jewish communities, BCSW is filling a critical need to help protect our communities by augmenting the critical roles that law enforcement, Jewish Federation, CSS and our security partners provide. Through its car patrol program, BCSW will provide additional eyes and ears to law enforcement, helping them ensure the safety of our neighborhoods, Jewish retail districts and institutions.
Please join Bergen County Shomrim Watch, the Jewish Bar Association of New Jersey and BCJAC on Wednesday evening, September 18. BCSW is hosting representatives from the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security, New Jersey state and local police, and the Attorney General’s office for a “Bias and Civils Rights Program.”
The upcoming Bias program will educate the community on reporting antisemitic and bias incidents, suspicious activities, what happens once a report is filed, and how law enforcement agencies respond to these incidents. There will be an opportunity for Q&A with the presenters to discuss your most pressing concerns affecting the Jewish community. With the rise in antisemitic incidents, you will be better informed and equipped to deal with bias incidents and leave with a firmer understanding of New Jersey law and procedure.
Admission is free; space is limited. Registration is required for admittance—RSVP at www.bergenshomrim.org or use the QR code in the flyer.
