On Sunday, June 26, The Bergenfield Public Library will host a “Summer Reading Kick Off Event” from 1 to 4 p.m., and all ages are welcome. This entirely free afternoon includes a 9-hole mini golf course, a touch-tank with underwater animals from the Wetlands Institute (both sponsored by the Friends of the Bergenfield Public Library), face painting, a caricature artist and live music featuring summertime hits from the ’50s all through the ’80s. As the first big library event since COVID, this public service for the local community is an exciting start to the summer. With the many different activities on the streets of the library, the whole family can enjoy the end of the school year under the summer sun.
