The TGS Cafe presents “Berkowitz, Coultas, and November: Soulful Images and Spiritual Words,” an evening of literary magic, on Tuesday September 30, 7:30–9 p.m. at the Teaneck General Store. Presenting will be poet, author, and freelance writer/editor Aaron Berkowitz. Published by The Society of Classical Poets, and other journals, he is co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Jewish Literary Journal, and an MFA candidate in Creative Writing in Poetry at Sarah Lawrence College.
She’s been called “a spiritual archaeologist”; other reviews of Brenda Coultas’s work call her “a new classic of American Literature.” The author of four books, The Tatters being her latest, Coultas is a professor of languages and literature at Touro College, and will read from her collection.
She is joined by colleague and TGS-favorite poet Baruch November. Baruch is the grandson of award-winning photographer Sidney November, whose work was featured in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. In addition, Baruch November is published in The Jewish Daily Forward, The Jewish Literary Journal, and other journals of poetry and fiction. November teaches creative writing and literature at Touro College and will exhibit from his collection of photography: images from Venice to NYC, from landscapes to Rashi’s chair, pure, provocative, and mystical.
Immerse your senses in an evening of soulful expression. Cozy up at The TGS Caf? for organic brewed teas, gourmet coffees, Zaide’s pastries, poetry, and art. Free Event.
