On September 7, 2014 the Beth Aaron Men’s Club took part in the “ice bucket challenge.” Over a dozen members had ice poured over their heads to show support.
Brainchild of past Men’s Club president David Goldberg, and organized by Men’s Club board members Larry Kahn and Ari Gononsky with the assistance of Men’s Club President Moishe B. Singer, the event was publicized via email, Facebook, and Announcements. There was much community support with over $750 raised in just three days and more coming in.
Long time shul member Itch Zeidel presided as Master of Ceremonies as over 50people cheered on the soon to be soaked participants. At the advice if the Zeidel family, all money raised will go to help local families who are suffering from ALS.
Prior to the pouring, Men’s Club President Moishe B. Singer challenged the boards of Bnei Yeshurin, Rinat Yisroel, and Keter Torah to take the challenge.

Now in its second decade, the Men’s Club has a busy lineup for the remainder of the calendar year including: building the expanded shul sukkah, the gala Simchat Torah kiddush, a “think pink” Shabbat to support Sharsheret and those effected by breast cancer, tech talk with Avi Greengart, a fall foliage hike with Daniel Chazin, a new bookclub, multiple kiddushim, and more.
