Beth Aaron to Sponsor Jewish Genealogy Event

On November 13 at 10:00 a.m., Congregation Beth Aaron in Teaneck will host Judy Salomon, who will speak about Jewish genealogy.

Salomon will discuss how she came to do her family’s genealogy, how she did it and how she hopes others will be equally fascinated. She hopes to dispel some family myths and discuss the changing borders of Europe. She will talk about the immigration process and discuss the many resources that might help in a genealogical search. She will also show what some documents look like that might be encountered in a search.

Salomon has lived in Essex County, New Jersey, all her life but that has not stopped her from searching far and wide for her ancestors. She has found ancestors who lived in the Austrian-Hungarian Empire in the year 1830, and has enjoyed meeting living cousins near and far.
