On Motzei Shabbat, Saturday, December 31, Cong. Beth Abraham will be sponsoring an evening of awareness and information regarding the teachings of Dr. John Sarno. Dr. Sarno worked for over 35 years at the NYU Rusk institute. He is board certified physiatrist who has helped thousands of people cure back pain and other chronic pains with his groundbreaking theory based on the mind-body connection. Although Dr. Sarno was not Jewish, his theory has resonated with frum communities across the globe and has helped many people in our tzibbur overcome chronic pain and in some sense transform their lives.

On December 31, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Rabbi Benzion Scheinfeld, who has personally benefited from Dr. Sarno’s teachings and who has helped many others achieve similar results. Rabbi Scheinfeld, whose speech at a conference honoring Dr. Sarno has over 200,000 views on YouTube, regularly fields phone calls from people around the world wanting to hear more about his experiences. He has been consulted by high-level figures in the Israeli government and appeared with Dr. Sarno on radio interviews. He has a compelling story that we feel can benefit our community.
