Bikur Cholim Bergen County (BCBC) will be hosting its second annual Melava Malka, an evening of awareness, inspiration and opportunity, on Motzei Shabbat, May 12 at 9:30 p.m. The event is the culmination of the annual “Shabbat of Awareness” when rabbis throughout Bergen County address their congregants about the mitzvah of Bikur Cholim and the valuable services that Bikur Cholim Bergen County provides. The event will be hosted at the home of Marcia and David Kreinberg, 393 Winthrop Road in Teaneck. The evening will feature a video presentation, which will give the community an opportunity to see and hear about the services provided by BCBC. In addition, people whose lives have been touched by chesed during times of illness will provide personal accounts, and volunteers will describe the profound effects that their volunteerism has had on their lives. The evening promises to be both informative and inspirational. There is no couvert, and all are welcome and encouraged to attend to show support for the important work done for the community by Bikur Cholim Bergen County.
