Following all of this, BBS almost immediately commences rehearsals for Legally Blonde The Musical, the focus of this summer’s Rock Musical Theater Intensive in residence at The Dwight-Englewood School’s Summer Connections/Summer Stage program. Last-minute slots in the ensemble or on the tech crew could still be available; email [email protected] or visit www.d-e.org/summer for further information.

In late July through mid-August, top BBS acting students will participate in the Teaneck-based Dramatic Theater Intensive, for the workshop production of a new piece for the stage. Final slots in this all-day, three-week program are available at www.blackboxnynj.com. Almost simultaneously, a number of BBS teaching artists will be working Off Broadway in NYC, staging the initial workshop production of Huey Esquire’s all-original This Time, A New Musical Romance in partnership with downtown’s renowned Theater for the New City. BBS Artistic Director Matt Okin will direct, with Musical Direction by Brody Greif.

On June 1, Black Box Studios will open “early bird” registration for its Fall/Winter 2015–16 semester, which begins at Temple Emeth in Teaneck on September 8, 2015. Any classes requiring auditions—such as Teen Drama Ensemble or Teen Musical Theater Ensemble—will offer a first round of tryouts just before the start of summer—details TBA.
