Teaneck’s Black Box Studios invites the community to its Fall Performing Arts Workshop open house, to be held on Sunday, September 10, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The open house will help explain what a Black Box collaborative theater, improv and/or writing workshop is all about. Attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on mini-classes presented by their professional teaching artists, meet current students and parents, ask questions and more.
The day will begin with a welcome/Q&A from 11a.m. to noon, followed by an improv comedy workshop, for all ages, at noon. At 12:30, there will be a drama workshop, and at 1p,m,, a musical theater dance workshop, both also for all ages.
Beginning at 1:30 p.m., there will be a writing workshop for ages 18 and up. At 2 p.m., they will hold an on-camera acting workshop for all ages, followed by an acting technique workshop at 2:30, for ages 15 and up. At 3 p.m., there will be a musical-theater voice workshop for all ages, and the day will conclude with a 3:30 p.m. preview of “Hand to God” (viewer discretion is advised).
