Bnai Brith “B Bracket” Heats Up

Entering play on Sunday August 2, 2015 were six teams all eyeing a chance at a birth or a play in game for the finals. The first two match-ups of the day featured a Cinderella storied 11 seed (Bombers) facing off in a do-or-die game against the 1 seed, last year’s champ (Noshers). This game was testy and exciting from the start. With the fairytale ending in sight, the Bombers pulled off yet another upset with an 11-6 victory. They moved on to play the winner of the other morning game, 2 seed Golems versus the resurgent 9 seed Besiballers. Those at the game, say everything was left on the field; the teams put on a show, scoring a combined 43 runs. But this story did not have a fairytale ending—the Golems took care of business and knocked out the Beisballers once and for all.

After an exciting morning, the matinee match-ups were set with all eyes on the 3 Seed LINKS, looking to clinch a finals birth over the 4 seed Moyals. This game was all LINKS’. Behind dominant pitching and defense, the LINKS took down the Moyals and advanced to their second championship in team history and second in five years. The Moyals may be down, but they are not out. The Golems have hit their stride and are looking to make noise.

Who will win and play the LINKS in next week’s 11 a.m. championship (Game 1). Will there be a LINKS versus Moyals rematch, or will the Golems attain revenge? JLNJ will fill you in next week as these teams face off—it is sure to be an exciting finals weekend!
