Bnai Yeshurun to Conduct Summer Reading Series on ‘Ethics of Our Fighters’

“Ethics of our Fighters”

Rabbi Elliot Schrier and Congregation Bnai Yeshurun will give a five part series going through Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Brody’s book, Ethics of our Fighters: a Jewish View on War and Morality, beginning Wednesday, July 10. The series will run every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. until August 7.

Rabbi Schrier will present a shiur on the week’s reading material, discussing the chapters designated for that week. There will also be a unique opportunity to hear from Rabbi Brody on Sunday, July 21.

Rabbi Brody, a popular speaker worldwide, is the executive director of the Ematai organization, which deals with Jewish medical ethics and end-of-life situations through a team of rabbis and doctors. He is a columnist for the Jerusalem Post and was co-dean at the Tikvah Online Academy. Rabbi Brody holds a bachelor’s from Harvard University in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, a master’s in Jewish Philosophy from Hebrew University and a PhD in law from Bar-Ilan University.
