Bnei Akiva and Yeshivat He’Atid Fly Kites for Peace

This past Sunday, Yeshivat He’atid and Bnei Akiva of New York and New Jersey, a Religious Zionist youth movement, joined forces to support Israel and the communities surrounding the Gaza strip. These communities suffer daily from burning kites being thrown into Israel. These kites burn large portions of land and cause damage to the fields, hurt animals, and put the lives of the residents of the south in danger. In response to this, the “kites for peace” project was started by Bnei Akiva of Los Angeles as a gesture of support for the residents of the south. At the event, the children made “kites for peace” to remind everyone that they want peace in Israel and that they support the residents of the south and the IDF.

This project was the kick-off event for next year’s partnership between Bnei Akiva and Yeshivat He’atid. Together they plan to bring non-formal Zionist programs and activities to the students of Yeshivat He’atid.

Bnei Akiva would like to thank Rabbi Tomer Ronen, the principal of Yeshivat He’atid, for all his incredible help and guidance in leading this program, along with Shachar Maimon, the shaliach and director of Bnei Akiva of New York, New Jersey and Boston. For more information about Bnei Akiva programs, see our website at BANY.org.
